Today we gathered up the OHS students and loaded buses for
France! It was a bit over a two-hour journey to Strasbourg where we took a
riverboat tour, followed a meal of the regions famous “Tarte Flambé”. This
tarte is similar to a pizza on very thin flatbread. The different varieties
were quite delicious! Everything in France was quite wonderful, with another beautiful
sunny day.
Each some free time chaperon group then had some free time
to wander the area and enjoy the awe inspiring Notre Dame Cathedral. Many took
the self guided tour through the church, which features a gigantic “astronomical
clock”. Others took in the breathtaking view from the top of the cathedral,
accessed by a tight circular staircase that winds up to the top of the
cathedral.
After our day in France we again loaded our buses and drove
back to Germany and to our Hostel in Stuttgart. Tomorrow we get to tour this
city and see the sights here, relax and do some shopping before returning back
to our hosts in the late afternoon.
I know that I will be able to do an update back at our host
city, but this might end up being the only update from Stuttgart. (This all
depends on the spotty internet connection here at the Hostel.)
